The Orlando Gluten-Free Pizza That Set the Bar for All Others (and Where to Find It)

Spoiler alert: It’s not in Italy. It’s in Orlando.

A Love Letter to Lazy Moon

I’ve eaten a lot of gluten-free pizza, some good, some meh, and a few that made me question my life choices. But nothing has ever come close to this. Lazy Moon Pizza in Orlando, Florida, makes the gluten-free pizza that quite literally set the bar for me.

The crust? Perfectly crisp. The toppings? Wildly flavorful. The vibe? Iconic. I’m genuinely lucky to live in the same city as this Orlando staple.

What Makes Lazy Moon So Special?

Lazy Moon isn’t just a pizza spot, it’s a Central Florida legend. Known for their massive slices (like bigger-than-your-head big), rotating craft beer list, and unique menu items like the Meaty McMeatface Slice and Jason’s Mom’s Slice, it’s a local go-to for students, families, and foodies alike.

But for those of us who eat gluten-free, their menu has an absolute gem on it: a personal-sized gluten-free pizza that is, in my very serious opinion, one of the best gluten-free pizzas in Orlando.

Let’s Talk About the Gluten-Free Pizza

While you can’t order their signature mega-slices gluten-free (understandable), their personal-size gluten-free pizza more than makes up for it. And let me tell you, it’s big enough that I regularly eat half for dinner and save the other half for lunch the next day. Two meals. One obsession.

My Two Go-To Orders:

  1. Classic Red Sauce Combo:
    • GF crust
    • Red sauce
    • Mozzarella
    • Crumbled sausage
    • Pepperoni
    • Garlic
    • This is my classic go-to order for a quick to-go meal on the way home.
  2. White Sauce:
    • GF crust
    • Ricotta base
    • Sausage
    • Garlic
    • This one feels extra cozy and yummy. A go-to for wine nights or chill Fridays.

Bonus: The Vibe + Drinks

Every Lazy Moon location has a laid-back, funky, local Orlando energy. Think long tables, eclectic art, board games, and local beer on tap. They also serve cocktails, and it’s the perfect spot for everything from casual dates to post-event hangouts.

And yes, they do gluten-free beer options too, depending on the location!

Where to Find Lazy Moon

There are currently three Lazy Moon locations in Central Florida:

  • Mills 50 / Colonial
  • UCF / University Blvd.
  • Maitland / Orlando Ave.

Pro tip: They get busy during peak hours, especially weekends and college game nights. I usually order ahead online if I’m taking it to go (which is often).

Final Thoughts

If you’re gluten-free and anywhere near Central Florida, this is one of those bucket list places.

And if you’re not gluten-free? Try the regular pizza, and we can still be friends. Just don’t forget to order garlic knots and take one for the team.
